My summer holidays '94
Sardinia

A few places we (Oskar and me) visited in the northern half of the isle
and some pictures I took (end of July 1994):
You can also load a list of thumbnails
instead of the single images.
- start in Livorno at the evening and
arrival in Olbia the morning after
- breakfast at the Café Mary, Piazza R. Margherita 1
- by car direction south till Baunei, a nice village on
the hill - we decide to sleep in the wood (among the boars) of the
Gennargentu National Park under
the star-sprangled sky (without tent!)
- two hours by foot (we are in a national park) to the beach, the
Cala di Goloritzé [1] is an
exciting view and the water so blue and clean,
I can't resist [2] (yes, the one jumping in the
water is me - it's always me on the pictures!).
- The red rocks near Arbatax [3]
- Nuraghi di Santa Sabina, you can also
climb them [4]
.
- In Bosa Marina you can see the
clashing waves at sunset [5].
- Alghero is a nice town too with many excellent restaurants
and a long beach. The Piazzetta is the meeting place for
all young people. We had diner at the trattoria da Pietro
and a good bottle of Vermentino, Sella e Mosca
- The Grotte di Nettuno [6] are also
worth a visit (entry 10.000.- lire)
- La Pelosa [7] near
Stintino is another famous beach.
Avoid to diner at Da Antonio, it's quite expensive
- Castelsardo is an ancient town build on a hill around a castle,
don't miss it!
- Santa Teresa di Gallura [8],
the town for everyone. We had
diner at the pizzeria-restaurant il Grottino - reasonable
prices.
